Get ready to spring into Spring!

With the short days and dark evenings it might well feel as if spring is never going to come but it’s there, just around the corner! There are lots of advantages to springtime that we don’t get in winter, from more sunlight and better weather, to the blossom coming out on the trees and the fact that summer is just around the corner. With the increased levels of sunshine and the bright colors of the season to anticipate this is a great time to think about how you can give yourself a spring makeover too.

Exercise might seem like something of a distant memory if your response to the arrival of winter has been to cozy up on the couch in front of a wealth of box sets and wait for the weather to warm up again. However, it’s time to start thinking about getting your heart rate up again, toning those limbs for summer and shifting the stubborn festive pounds that all of us can’t avoid thanks to all the treat during the Christmas season. There are many ways that you can incorporate exercise into your life and it doesn’t have to be a hardship. Why not sign up for a dance class, from salsa and ballroom through to dance themed workouts, or take up cycling. You can organise group cycle outings with the family or just incorporate cycling into your daily routine to and from work. Other great options include a run through a park or a city on a cold, fresh morning, fun activities like belly dancing or something with a meditative element like yoga.

And after you’ve finished your workout then it’s time for some pampering – our bodies need this just as much as the exercise! Bubble baths are one of the best ways to get yourself to wind down and relax so fill the bath up with suds and relax. While you’re at it treat yourself to a homemade facemask – it will give your skin a glow and smells good enough to eat too! It’s easy to whip up a facemask, just mix Ski yogurt with honey and oats for an exfoliating and brightening effect. Finally, complete your pamper session with a Ski Lemon Mousse – there’s no better way to enjoy an indulgent treat that won’t make you feel guilty.
